Mrs. Ashaki Nalango Hill

Celebrating The Life Of Ashaki Nalango Hill: Ashaki Nalango Rives was born on November 25, 1970 to the union of Armadale and Andrew Rives Sr. in Detroit, Michigan. Ashaki attended Detroit Public Schools and graduated with honors from Central High School in 1988. She also attended Oakland University pursuing her degree in Elementary Education. Ashaki loved helping others and therefore was employed through various Human Services agencies, including Orchards Human Services. Ashaki accepted Christ at a very early age. She was baptized at Tennessee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Harry Nelson Napoleon. She later became a member of Jamison Temple Missionary Baptist Church serving under the leadership of Pastor Homer Jamison. As a child she served faithfully singing in the Joy Bells Choir and on the Youth Usher Board. As an adult she was a member of the Praise Team and the Intercessors. Most currently, she was the pastor’s Administrative Assistant and the church Announcing Clerk. Ashaki served a pivotal role in mentoring many young women in the church. On July 25, 2009, Ashaki married the love of her life, Keetz Revard Hill. Ashaki loved her husband with unwavering faith. If we were able to talk with Ashaki today, we believe she would say the following: “Life is short, so make sure you enjoy it to the fullest. Let me start by saying I would not know how to live, love and forgive without Christ in my life. I love you Keetz, Jewel, Josiah, and Myron. I love you Mom and thank you for staying by my bedside and never giving up on me. Dad, you know you’re the best father a girl could ever ask for. Thank you Drew and Tim for being awesome brothers and having my back all my life. I tried to be the best aunt and godmother I knew how to be. Jamison Temple I love you as much as I love my own family. Speaking of family, I know I happened to have been born into the best family ever. Pastor Jamison and Co-Pastor Royal, you are my heart. Pastor Jamison, I considered you as my second father, my mentor and my role model. Without hesitation, I gave my all to support my family, my pastor and my church. Would I change things and want to come back? Sorry, NO! I do however look forward to seeing all of you again. Right now I’m on another mission looking for some special people I haven’t seen in a while: Grandma, Grand-daddy, Aunt Rooshie, Uncle AC and countless others. Live right and keep the faith until we meet again!” The Lord called Ashaki home to rest on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 with members of her loving family at her bedside.
