April Averett

In Loving Memory Of April Averett was born on April 17, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan to Thomas James Averett II and Mary (Stovall) Lee Averett. April attended the Detroit Public School system and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1973, where she was a member of the choir. After graduation, April attended Lewis College of Business, receiving a certificate in Business Administration in 1982. April’s employment history is extensive, she was employed with Chrysler Corporation for more than 30 years as a machine operator at several different locations that included multiple positions. April was a sweet and generous person, that always had a hug and a kiss for everyone. She loved her family and friends, and they loved her even more. April loved to travel, and play bingo, but bowling was the sport and thing she loved the most, and she bowled for more than 20 years. April was even granted special status as a PFENBA bowler, that recognized her as a bowler that participated in five of more leagues! (Postal- Federal Employees National Bowling Association.) April was also a member of the Motor City Bowlers Guild (2004) for many years and this circle of bowlers created a special family, that she treasured. Most recently, April accepted the position as an assistant cook at Imperial Service Suites in Southfield, MI where she was adored by her co-workers. April loved her parents and April’s father loved the Lord, and she became a member of First Baptist Institutional Church and later became a member of Christian Tabernacle Church, and if you needed a Bible, you could just ask April, she had enough for everyone. April leaves her beloved daughter, Zorana R. Averett, giving her the nick name Zoom to cherish her many memories. She leaves two brothers Thomas J. III (Brenda), and Derrick (Cheryl) Averett, four nieces, Ivorie Averett, LaShawndra Boyd, Porsha Blount (Sonya Blount, mother) and Andrea Blount. Two nephews Thomas N. Averett IV and David S. Averett and one great-niece, Laurielle Boyd, and a host of cousins, relatives, co-workers, and friends including the Motor City Guild Family to cherish her memory. April’s parents and two brothers (Nathaniel and Charles) preceded her in death.
