Mr. Antwone DeAangelo Buttrom

On March 26, 1991, the world was blessed with a precious gift as Antwone DeAngelo Buttrom entered into this life. Born to Robin Banks and Anthony Buttrom, Antwone affectionately known as Tong by those who loved him was a beacon of light, joy, and laughter from the moment he arrived. His infectious smile and compassionate heart made him a beloved son, father, brother, and friend to all who were fortunate enough to know him. Antwone was raised in Detroit, where he spent his formative years creating lasting memories. He attended Henry Ford High School before transferring to another institution, where he successfully graduated. During his youth, Antwone was known for his adventurous spirit and energetic personality. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending time with family, competing with friends in video games, or fueling his passion for fast cars. His laughter was contagious, and his presence lit up every room he entered. Antwone’s life took on new meaning with the birth of his son, Antwone Buttrom. Becoming a father was more than a role to him—it was his life’s greatest achievement. Every moment with his son was a treasure, from the playful afternoons to the meaningful conversations that strengthened their bond. His devotion to his son was unwavering, and he dedicated himself to being a father who was present, loving, and supportive. Whether it was sharing a laugh over games or teaching valuable lessons, Antwone’s heart was full when he was with his son. Family was the cornerstone of Antwone’s life. He cherished the time spent with his parents and embraced the importance of nurturing those relationships. Dinners with his mother, Robin, were filled with warm conversations and shared memories. Barbecues with his father, Anthony, were moments of laughter and bonding that he held dear. He found joy in the company of his brothers, nieces, and nephews, creating memories that will forever be remembered at family gatherings. Antwone’s kindness extended far beyond his immediate family. Known for his warm demeanor, he was a friend who could always be relied upon—a listening ear, a comforting presence, and a source of strength during difficult times. His compassion and ability to uplift those around him were defining traits that made him a blessing to so many. Throughout his life, Antwone maintained a gentle spirit and a sense of wonder for the world around him. Whether he was laughing with loved ones, taking a peaceful drive, or simply enjoying life’s simple moments, he did so with a heart full of love and gratitude. His beautiful personality and generous heart were felt by all, leaving behind a legacy of love and grace. On February 3, 2025, Antwone departed this life, leaving behind a community of family and friends who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his loving mother, Robin Banks, and his pride and joy, his beloved son, Armani Shadwick, who will carry his legacy forward, and his love, Alyse Jones, who was there by his side. He is also survived by his cherished grandmother, Emogene Pye; his devoted brothers Anthony Banks and Khristian Powell; his sister, Knisha Green; his nephew, Khristian Powell Jr.; and his adoring nieces Amillion, Brooklyn, Dakota, and Airyhanna. A host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and dear friends will also remember him with love and gratitude for the time they shared with him. Though Antwone’s time on earth was brief, the impact he made will last for generations. His legacy is written in the hearts of those he touched with his love, compassion, and unwavering joy. His life reminds us to embrace each moment, love deeply, and find joy in life’s small blessings. In his memory, let us carry forward his light, remembering his laughter and warmth. While we grieve the loss of his presence, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in the lives of those who loved him. Rest peacefully, Antwone.
