Mr Antione Edgar McGhee

Antione Edgar McGhee, affectionately known as “Chippy,” was born and raised in Royal Oak Township, MI. He was a cherished son, brother, father, and friend who touched the hearts of all who knew him. Antione was a proud graduate of Ferndale High School, Class of 1997. During his high school years, he was known for his impeccable style, including his iconic high-top fade. He made unforgettable memories with his classmates, including a memorable appearance on The New Dance Show, and he was famous for his exceptional Jittin' skills. He was also known for throwing the best and hypest basement parties. He was always the freshest in the room with his fly clothes and on-point shoe game. A lover of sports, Antione was a devoted fan of the Detroit Lions and all things Detroit sports. He enjoyed watching the NFL and NBA, often tuning into ESPN for his morning sports commentary and stats. When he wasn’t watching sports, Antione loved collecting baseball cards, Hot Wheel cars, and playing darts. He was also a big fan of 90s R&B music and loved watching movies, with Forrest Gump being one of his all-time favorites. More than anything, Antione adored spending time with his family, especially his precious daughter, Covetta, whom he loved dearly. She was his world and it was nothing he wouldn’t do for her. Every smile, every laugh, every step she took brought him pure joy. He treasured family gatherings, traveling to Detroit to catch up with childhood friends, and sharing moments with his loved ones. Antione was preceded in death by his mother, Fran McGhee; his Auntie, Lorse Jennings-White; and his favorite cousin, Gyuan Peterson. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his beloved daughter, Covetta McGhee, brother Delson McGhee, sister April Easterling, stepfather Kevin Dickens, Aunties Kathleen Peterson (Kat) and Lorriane Peterson (Peatree) Uncles, Richard Peterson (Rick) and Quentin Jennings-White, Niece Dessuana McGhee, Sister-Cousin Joe'Londa Peterson (Lah), Younger cousins, La'Taija Peterson and JoeWan Peterson (Peanut), Brother-in-law Ian Easterling, and Brother-Cousin Randy Royal, and a host of cousins, friends, and his entire Township family. Antione will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. May his soul rest in peace.
