Mrs. Allene Fleming

In Loving Memory Of Mrs. Allene Fleming was born to Louis II and Willie Lee Thomas on June 28, 1941, in Detroit, Michigan. She was born the third child of five children to this union. Allene was preceded in death by her eldest son, Antonio Thomas, her parents, and four siblings: two brothers, Louis III, and Taylor Thomas, and two sisters, Elaine Armstead, and Laverne “Peewee” Highgate. She received her education through the Detroit Public School System. Shortly after, she began to start her family. Allene met her love and in the early 1970s she married William J. Fleming, who preceded her in death. Destined to provide a good life for her children, Allene continued to further her education gaining a certificate from Mary Grove College in Home Health Care. Striving to make a difference, Allene became an entrepreneur who started her own Crown and Glory Beauty Shop in the 1980s. Allene was a strong-willed woman who loved to cook and entertain her family and friends. She possessed a charismatic charm that made her the life of the party. Allene had a witty personality and at times just downright hilarious. She said what she meant and meant what she said! Allene was a vibrant loving person who had a heart of gold and was always willing to help everybody. Blessed with the gift to care for others, she made that her lifetime profession on so many levels. Allene cared for others with passion and a servant spirit. Allene confessed her life to Christ and was an active member of Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church until her health no longer permitted her to attend. Her most favorite Gospel album was The Canton Spirituals 1993 record. It was the perfect blend of God’s word and blues, which she also loved. On July 5, 2022, Allene Fleming passed away at home in Pontiac, Michigan in her daughter Audrey's arms. She leaves behind to celebrate her life and cherish her memory: five children, Andrea M. McKnight, Armelda D. Noel, Andre L. Patton, Audrey Y. Dunlap, and L’Tia D. Thomas; eleven grandchildren, Tanesha Simmons, Leonard Smith, Antonio Littleton, Darryl Patton, Antonio Owens, Howard Whitehead, Tiante Legget, Antonio Patton, Destiny Weaver, Andre Moss-Patton, and Jada Thomas; fourteen great-grandchildren; three siblings, LaVita and Tonya Ecckles and Vanessa Young (one brother-in-law Arthur Young of Louisville Kentucky); one beloved aunt, Grace Gilbert; one uncle, Charles Gilmore; one favorite cousin, Claudreen Jackson; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. Allene Fleming will truly be missed!
