Mr. Alex Leonard Kincaid

In Loving Memory Of Alex Leonard Kincaid was born on September 27, 1964 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Shack and Dora Lee (Harvey) Kincaid. Alex was the youngest of four children to that union which included: Regina (Kincaid) Nelson, Shack Kincaid Jr., and Linda Faye (Kincaid) White. Alex accepted Christ at a young age at Messiah Baptist Church (Detroit). He enjoyed going to Vacation Bible School there in the summer. He also loved to travel with his dad and sister, Linda Faye to Mississippi for a couple weeks after school was out to spend time with his Grandparents and his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Alex attended Detroit Public Schools: Barton Elementary, Drew Middle School and Mackenzie High School. While in high school, Alex participated in sports; mainly football and baseball. He eventually went to Job Corps and received his high school diploma and trained in the Culinary Arts Program - where he learned to cook, due to his passion for good food and hearty appetite. He became a really good cook too! His greens were the “best.” Alex soon joined the U.S. Army, obtaining rank of CPL. His specialty as Military Police and Corrections NCO earned him a Good Conduct Medal; National Defense Medal; Army Service Ribbon; Overseas Service Ribbon and M16 Rifle Expert. He re-enlisted for a second term. Alex returned to civilian life in 1988 and eventually worked for the U.S. Postal Service holding various positions before he retired due to health challenges. Alex enjoyed watching sports, listening to music, cooking, streaming movies and video games. Alex had a no-nonsense approach and attitude most of the time; but every now and then his sense of humor would get loose! Alex was a devoted and loving son, brother and uncle. Alex departed this life on Friday, July 26, 2024. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Faye White and mother, Dora Lee Kincaid. He leaves to cherish his memory: his father, Shack Kincaid; his sister, Regina (Chuck) Nelson; his brother, Shack Kincaid, Jr.; his nieces, Terisha (Rondle) Brown and Charlesha Nelson; his great-niece, Daisha Moore; his great-nephew, William Banks; and his great-great-nephew, Elijah Craft Jr. and his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
