Mrs. Sharon Marie Gibson

Celebrating The Life Of Sharon Marie Gibson: Sharon Marie Gibson was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late Leroy Sr. and Clarice Arnold on February 11, 1944. She was the youngest daughter of four siblings, one preceded her in death Marlene Arnold Jumper. Sharon departed this life, on Thursday, May 19, 2016 with her family by her side. Sharon was educated in the Detroit Public School System and graduated from Central High School in 1962. Sharon furthered her education in business with a concentration in Court Reporting. Upon completion she became a Certified Court Reporter and a member of the National Court Reporting Association (NCRA). Sharon accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Detroit, Michigan, where she remained a member until her untimely death. Sharon married her high school sweetheart the late Joseph Marcus Gibson in 1968; she affectionately called him “Honey.” To this union one child was born, Marcus Eric. Sharon was employed for over 30+ years collectively with the 36th District Court and Recorders Courts, as an outstanding court reporter. Sharon used her talents in court reporting to go on and work with some of the most renowned judges in the City of Detroit. She was known by many that saw her in the courtroom to be one of the few court reporters that could transcribe using the stenotype machine and not use the voice writing equipment to transcribe legal proceedings. She could easily type 250 wpm error free. This was truly a talent she had. Sharon's most memorable time working in the courts was when she worked with retired Judge Theresa Doss. They developed a bond and friendship that went further than the work. Sharon was an excellent cook as she took this love for cooking after her mother, upholding the family famous recipes. She always enjoyed preparing every holiday meal for the family. She would always extend an open invitation to any and every one for a “good ole” home cooked meal. Sharon took great pleasure in reading her newspaper and tabloids daily, listening to music and dancing especially with her late husband “Marcus;” you could always count on them to “get the party started.” A Loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Sister...
