Ms. Sharday LaMyra Taylor

Her Story: Ms. Sharday LaMyra Taylor was born in Southfield, Michigan on Monday, September 19, 1988. She was a 10 lb., 1 oz. miracle baby. She was the first child born to the union of Vincent and Cynthia Taylor. Sharday accepted God as her Father and Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age. Sharday was a product of the Detroit Public School System. She attended Marsh Elementary, Ann Arbor Trail Magnet Middle School and then graduated from Cass Technical High School in 2006. As a student at DPS, she participated in various extra-curricular activities such as Marching Band and Science Programs. Her lifelong goal was to become a Forensic Pathologist. She went on to pursue a college education, first attending Wayne County Community College District, then Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and lastly, Sharday did not allow her battle with Sarcoma to stop her from achieving her goal of getting a degree. Sharday graduated from Oakland Community College on May 18, 2013 with an Associates of Liberal Arts Degree. She was pursuing her lifelong goal of becoming a Forensic Pathologist. Like her dad and godmother (Myra), Sharday possessed a strong work ethic. She started working at the age of 16 and worked until she became ill and at that time she worked three jobs. Sharday was told by doctors that there was a possibility that she would never conceive, however, on December 16, 2013, Sharday gave birth to a healthy baby boy Omari D'Sean Taylor. This was her greatest accomplishment, becoming a mother. Sharday loved and lived for Omari. In fact, during her pregnancy, she delayed treatment to ensure that he would be born healthy. Sharday enjoyed watching him grow and thrive. She planned and celebrated and enjoyed his first birthday party. Sharday was a lively, vivacious, gregarious young woman. She was affectionately known by her closest friends as “Day Day.” She was also intelligent, strong-willed, self-determined, independent, beautiful, and a wee-bit rebellious. She loved bowling, skating, shopping, fashion, going to the river walk, going out to eat, dancing, and most of all changing the color of her hair. Sharday battled Sarcoma for eight years with everything she had, she fought long and hard, vigilantly and gracefully. On Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 10:20 a.m., Sharday LaMyra Taylor was called home to be with the Lord.
