Home Going Celebration For Monica Anetha Brown: Monica Anetha Green was born on March 17, 1938 to parents Florence and Samuel "Sammy" Green. As a proud Jamaican, she was raised in the district of Claremont, Parish of Hanover along with her six siblings that included the late Ivan, Claris, Stanley, and Laurazene. Ms. Green was also born to teach and learn. She would show an early love for education at Claremont All-Age School and followed that by graduating Mico Teachers College. From there, she would become a school teacher and meet her lifelong best friend, Dolly Barclay. Sister Monica made the best decision of OUR LIVES when she dedicated her life to serve God and made Jesus Christ her personal savior at the age of 16. She was an active member worshiping at Claremont New Testament Church of God. Her values could not go unnoticed and with the recommendation of neighboring pastor, she would find her life partner for over the next 50 years. When Monica met Osmond Brown, they would find love and get married in Jamaica in 1964. A start of new life came in the next few years with the birth of their first child and a moved to Detroit, Michigan. There, she would change professions, become a nurse's assistant at Detroit's Grace Hospital, and have two more children before being forced into early retirement due to injury. Her motherhood still shined raising her biological and MANY extended children influencing college graduates and strong-valued young parents. Sister Brown was unstoppable. After retirement, she became one of the founding members and cornerstone of the then named "Berean Church Of God" in Detroit. She served as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, and secretary. Her 40 years of service and her constant loving eye on every member young and old earned her the blessing to be named a beloved "Mother" at Full Gospel Opendoor Assembly. Her spare time was spent exercising, shopping, mentoring at the infamous Full Cup ice cream shop, raising many pets, and loved her annual vacation and cruises. The community, neighborhood business, and schools all knew her for her giving heart, stern life-lessons, and inspirational words until her verbal words were silenced. After decades of hard work and service, Mother Brown spent her final earthly days resting in fellowship with her blood and extended family. On the last night of spring, She answered God's call to "come home."
