Celebrating The Life Of LaTona Joanna Crawford: Mrs. LaTonda Joanna Crawford beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister of the Flucker-Crawford families, passed serenely into eternity on April 9, 2016 in Detroit, Michigan. The family, the City, and indeed the lives of those whom she touched around the world are bereft of a true saint called by the Lord to her heavenly rest. LaTonda, was born to the union of Willie Joe Flucker Sr. (deceased) and Velvet Lee Flucker on February 2, 1961. She is survived by her husband, mother, four adoring sons, two brothers, one sister, and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, LaTonda attended Detroit Public Schools from elementary to high school. She graduated from Detroit Murray Wright High School in 1978. She continued her education at The University of Michigan-Dearborn where she studied psychology and nursing. She was an astute and prolific business woman. She and her husband, Roosevelt Jr. were the proud owners of Best Performance Automotive, Inc. and Ms. Tee’s Hair & Nail Salon. LaTonda was a well-known, well-respected, anointed woman of God born into a loving family based on the scriptural premise of the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” This rule guided LaTonda throughout her life. LaTonda truly believed in this scripture and devoted her life to its principle. She spent most of her time working tirelessly, ministering to, praying for, and encouraging countless people from all walks of life as her discerning spirit perceived their needs. Raised in a Christian household, LaTonda was a devout believer in putting her faith into action. God blessed LaTonda and Roosevelt Crawford Jr. with four sons, Roosevelt III, Jacob Erik, Travis Vance, and Michael Crawford Jr. LaTonda was a loving and dedicated mother, and godmother, not only to these children but to hundreds of young people who sought her wisdom without judgement. Her love for family and community knew no bounds. LaTonda’s dedication to motherhood was enabled by her strong faith, which she practiced with a wonderful combination of courage and grace. Although we will sorely miss her, we rejoice, in LaTonda Crawford’s transition to be with the Lord. She has come to the end of her earthly journey, having fought the good fight, having finished the race; having kept the faith. Finally, she has donned the crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous judge, has bestowed upon her.
