Mr. Don Ezell Lang Sr.

The Life Of Don Ezell Lang, Sr. Don Ezell Lang Sr. was born on December 22, 1935 in Ecorse, Michigan to the late Perry and Emma Lang. The Christmas season was in high gear. Excitement was swirling throughout most homes. The atmosphere was sunny and bright. It was Sunday and Sunday meant Sunday school and church in this particular household. This Sunday the children were "sent" to Sunday school, not carried. However the church was only a block and half away. When the children returned home, to their surprise a sound greeted them that was not there when they left. A squealing little baby had joined them as a big Christmas surprise. Don Ezell was introduced to his sister and three brothers as they stood in amazement. Don was loved and spoiled by his family. He was "Baby Brother." Don did well in school and the family thought he would become a doctor. Soon after Don graduated from Ecorse High School, "Home of the Red Raiders," he was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War. After returning home from service Don's life became a myriad of struggles, some failures, and some victories. He attended Ford Motor Company Trade School and became a skilled certified pipe fitter. In his quest for life, Don met a lady named Deloris. It was his first love. Their love was blessed with two healthy, handsome sons named Don Jr and Philip. Time brought change and challenge. Don met and married Yvonne. A beautiful daughter named Tamika and a stepson Drew were added to that union. Again life moved in another direction. Don met and married Alice. Alice preceded Don in death. Connie McFall came into Don's life and they soon married. Life brought about more changes and Don moved to Las Vegas where he met Doris and they were married. Doris preceded him in death. Despite all the turbulence in Don's life, he never forgot God. Don joined the Church of the Resurrection and was a devoted member until he moved. Don called himself a true Ambassador for Christ. He became a part of the group "Ambassador for Christ." Don attended several different churches including New Birth Church of Christ and Sunday school at Greater Love Tabernacle Church of God in Christ. He believed in paying tithes. He felt you were stealing God's money if you didn't pay tithes. Deep down he loved the Lord and affirmed this in his last days. Don's life journey that wound through the valleys as well as up the mountain and through the streams, through sunshine and rain, through storms and pain ceased on December 5, 2014 as he slipped away in his sleep.
