Ms. Delores Ivey

In Loving Memory Of Delores Ivey: Delores was the third daughter born through the love of Rutha Lee Whipple (deceased) and Silas Ivey, Jr. (deceased). Delores was born in Ferndale, MI and was educated in the Ferndale school system. Delores was a smart and happy child. Delores would sometimes "push the envelope" and get away with it more often than not because she took comfort in knowing her three sisters were always there for her. That caused her to be spoiled. Delores confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized by Pastor J. B. Ford and was a faithful member of the 2nd Corinthian MB Church for many years and she utilized her God-given talent by singing in the choir. In later years, she united with the Greater Middle MB Church (Pastor J.H. Johnson) and was a faithful member there until her health failed. At the age of 17, Delores met her soulmate, Elijah Terrell. As the days of their lives continued to blossom, God granted gifts—four wonderful children—three daughters and one son— who were their greatest blessings. She adored her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all of her being. She was always supportive and caring. Delores was also a giver. Her immediate and extended family members were direct recipients of her gifts of love, but her generosity was felt by all who knew her. She deeply cared about those in her circle of life; and if you were in it, you knew it beyond a shadow of a doubt! She was so kind, almost to a fault. Her favorite saying was "prayer changes things," so she didn't worry about much! She put her trust right there. Delores worked hard inside and outside of her home. She was very brave and a very strong soul. Delores worked as a CNA, showing kindness and selflessness along her journey, even to strangers. It was readily apparent that it was who she was, not merely what she did. She made a lasting impression on all that she met. She touched and impacted so many lives and placed footprints on many hearts. Delores was the life of every party! She lived her life to the full and wanted those that she loved to do the same! Delores was a serious person and had a competitive nature to her, but she absolutely knew when and how to have fun. She enjoyed playing board games, playing cards and doing word search puzzles. Delores was a joy to be around. She had an infectious personality and she knew no strangers. She will be greatly missed. Delores departed this life on the evening of September 13, 2017 at Providence Park Hospital surrounded by her family.
